Hari's Heart Awards - 2022

Dear Readers,

Since 2022 is over now and 2023 has started ticking, I thought I'll reflect on 2022 and since this is also the season for awards, decided I'll start this tradition of giving out awards for the movies/dialogues/songs and all things popular that I cherished in the year 2022. Don't worry, private things will be jotted down in my diary so read along. Disclaimer: This is going to be a "from my heart" conversation and is only my opinion.

Favourite Movies (Why pick only one?)

  1. Kadaisi Vivasayi: I still remember that I saw this movie's poster outside PVR Brookfields after I came out watching Valimai. This movie is one in a million and I don't know if I'll ever get to watch a movie that has given me the feeling that this movie offered. Magical!

  2. Seetha Ramam: A love story that just transcends the movie screen and pierces your heart. DQ! <3 The music director was the show stealer! Brilliant album in recent times and will always remain one of my favourites forever.

  3. RRR: What an experience watching it in the theatre! Phenomenal movie experience.

  4. KGF 2: The sheer mass appeal this movie had and the whole theatre experience where people were shouting for every scene like it's a Rajini movie has left me spellbound.

  5. Gargi: The screenplay and Sai Pallavi - The standouts! A great thriller with beautiful social elements intertwined.

Favourite Songs:

  1. Kurumugil & Kannukulle - Sita Ramam: Magic in the lyrics and the music!

  2. Ratchasa Mamaney - PS 1: Shreya Ghoshal and AR Rahman, take a bow! That "Mama" bit at the end! Just take my heart!

  3. Mamakutty - Love Today: It was that starting verses that gradually turn into a song for me! Why am I nominating all songs with "Mama" in it? XD

  4. Aga Naga - PS 1: The word play and the melody!

Favourite magical moments:

  1. Scene from Kadaisi Vivasayi movie when a sage gives Viboothi to Vijay Sethupathi after smearing some on his forehead already followed by VJS's quip on why is he giving it and culminating in the sage replying "Anga oruthi irukka...marandhuttiya?'' Just Goosebumps!

  2. KGF 2 ending scene where both the reporter and the man being interviewed shout "Monster" together.

It has been some time since I wrote ( even in my Instagram page I didn't post). Hope I get back to writing and enjoying more of what this world has to offer.
